I’m making a temperature scarf for 2021, and made a video about it.
I went for a scarf, rather than a blanket, since scarves are less daunting and more manageable.
I chose to have seven temperature ranges represented by seven different colours. I didn’t want the project to be more complex than that. The more colours you use, the more colour changes you need, and the more ends to weave in.
To help me figure out appropriate temperature ranges, I Googled “average monthly temperatures in Toronto” to get a better idea of how cold it gets in winter and how hot it gets in the summer.
In terms of palettes, I chose a rainbow palette, but it’s all personal choice.
As far as stitches go, I chose to do the zigzag stitch on the long loom. It’s a stitch that I can enjoy and can quickly knit up.
